My Background and Approach:
As an Integrative Counsellor, I combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the Psychodynamic Approach, and the Humanistic Approach to help clients feel empowered, recognise their worth, and navigate life's complexities in a safe and nurturing space. With an extensive background spanning court-based advocacy, working in police stations, domestic abuse charities, and both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, I have supported clients who have experienced trauma and PTSD, and complex mental health conditions. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how mental health can shape thoughts, feelings, and relationships with others, and has informed my compassionate, non-judgemental, and trauma-informed approach.
My aim is to ensure clients feel empowered and genuinely listened to. I offer flexible and blended counselling, via a range of modalities (face-to-face, online, or phone sessions). I also provide a free 20-minute consultation to discuss your goals and to ensure I am the right fit for you.
Mental health is just as vital as physical health, yet it is often overlooked and stigmatised. I truly believe counselling can transform lives. Whether you are facing a challenging time, seeking personal growth, or navigating various life transitions, my goal is to de-stigmatise mental health and ensure clients make themselves and their relationships a priority.

FAQ's
How long is a therapy session? Sessions will last for 50 minutes.
What is your approach? As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor my approach using various therapeutic methods, including CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Humanistic techniques. This holistic perspective empowers you to explore your thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth.
How do you take payment? I accept cash, bank transfer, or debit card payments. Full details will be shared at the time of booking an appointment.
How often/how many sessions will I need? Initially, weekly sessions are preferable for consistent growth and support. However, we may adjust the frequency to bi-weekly or even monthly sessions, depending on your needs and preferences. The amount of sessions can vary and will be influenced by the specific challenges you wish to address, as well as how manageable or difficult you find the therapy process. If long-term therapy is required, a timeframe of approximately 1 to 3 years may be a reasonable expectation. What's important is that we maintain an open dialogue about your needs from counselling and determine when you feel ready to conclude the process.
Who is counselling for? Counselling is available for anyone who thinks they could benefit from speaking with a professional about their challenges. Even minor issues can become overwhelming, impacting various aspects of our lives without us noticing. For example, changes in sleep or appetite, mood swings, low energy, or difficulty focusing.
Do you charge for cancellations? If you need to cancel or modify an appointment, I will make every effort to assist you. However, due to my busy schedule, I must charge the full fee for any sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice.
How will counselling work? Initially, we will have a confidential phone consultation where we can discuss your motivations, expectations, and goals for counselling. After exploring your thoughts, we can determine together if I am suitable for you. You can decide how often you would like counselling, where you would like counselling, and what type of counselling depending on your personal preferences.
What is the BACP? The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is a professional body that represents and supports counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. It sets ethical standards for practice, promotes the importance of mental health, and provides resources for both practitioners and clients to ensure high-quality therapeutic care.
